Windscreen Replacement
A myriad of windscreens are replaced in Southern Africa every year – across a range of cars, trucks and recreational vehicles. Alarmingly, many of these are done incorrectly. A correctly fitted and expertly secured windscreen means that your vehicle's structural integrity is not compromised in any way. For this reason, sensible motorists choose Glasfit – whatever the make or age of their vehicle.
Why Replace? Why Not Repair?
Windscreen glass is laminated, unlike the rest of the glass on your vehicle – which is toughened. Toughened glass shatters, while laminated glass is shatter-proof. For this reason, windscreens withstand impacts better. Although smaller windscreen fractures may be fixed, replacement is however the only option when bigger breaks and cracks occur.
Glasfit stocks a comprehensive range of Original Equipment approved and SABS accredited Shatterprufe™ motor glass for cars, recreational vehicles, minibuses, buses and trucks.
If you do not fit glass that is Original Equipment approved and SABS accredited you may negate your vehicle's warranty – as well as seriously endanger your life and the lives of your passengers (in the event of a serious accident). Remember that our roads are some of the most dangerous in the world, and thousands of accidents occur every day.
We Fit The Following Types Of Shatterprufe™ Motor Glass:
Automotive Laminated Safety Glass
This extremely tough construction has the following capabilities:
- Prevents sudden loss of vision if the glass breaks
- Resists penetration by flying objects
- Retains glass splinters on impact - reducing the risk of injury
- Helps to keep occupants inside the vehicle in a serious accident
- Protects against the weather, even when the glass is broken
This type of motor glass is primarily used for in passenger, recreational and commercial vehicles as well as buses. Passenger comfort is further enhanced by tinted, shaded and combination options designed to lower interior vehicle temperatures and reduce glare.
Automotive Toughened (Tempered) Safety Glass
Armourplate™ is used for all vehicle glazing other than forward-facing windscreens.

Our Unique Bonding Agent - SIKA Tack
Glasfit uses the SIKA Tack Drive™ bonding agent. SIKA™ cuts the customer's waiting time after fitment, from a few hours to just 30 minutes - weather and humidity permitting.
